It’s Election Day again in Dallas County.

Today voters will decide whether or not to approve the issuance of $16.8 million in general obligation bonds to build and equip a new jail and law enforcement center on the east side of Adel.

In order for Proposition A to pass, 60 percent of the ballots need to be Yes votes.

There are 10 voter centers throughout the county and residents can vote at any one of them.

Sheriff Chad Leonard encourages everyone to get out and vote.

“I think it’s our obligation to go out and vote.  I’ve always been told, if you don’t vote don’t complain.  I do encourage people to call me directly and ask me.  I’ll tell you what I do know about the whole issue and walk you through it.  I’d (also) encourage people to call me and tell me why they didn’t vote for it, I’d like to know those reasons as well so that I can pass them on to the County
