School board elections are coming up next month and there are no contested races for Greene County or Paton-Churdan.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s office, John McConnell and Ashley Johnston are running for the two at-large seats on the Greene County School Board.  Johnston is running for another term and current board member Jeff Lamoureux has decided not to run again.

For Paton-Churdan, there are three seats available, with one to fill a vacancy.  John McCormick is running for one of the two open seats and Jennifer Maach in running to finish the term vacated by Libby Towers.  Maach was previously appointed to the board when Towers submitted her resignation.  However, the other available seat will be filled by a write-in candidate.  Current board members Steve Burrell and Trop Paup will not be on the ballot.

Incumbent Douglas McDermott is also running for District 9 Director of the Merged Area V Community College District seat.

The polls will be open from noon to 8pm on Tuesday, September 8th.
