A deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on highway 30 near Hillcrest Avenue. A 2006 Toyota Avalon that was being driven by Peter Andrew Poland 50, of Carroll, was westbound on 220th Street when he struck a cow that had walked onto the roadway. Poland was not injured but his vehicle was estimated to be a total loss.

A deputy was advised that he could disregard an alarm activation at 209 Main in Paton. The alarm was set off by a delivery service.

A deputy was dispatched to Scranton for the report of two dogs running at large in the 400 block of Lincoln Street. The owner of the dogs was advised of their location and went to the 800 block of 9th Street to pick them up.

A deputy and a Jefferson Police Officer were advised of a gas drive off from the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction, with the vehicle believed to be heading to Jefferson.  A vehicle fitting the description was stopped and the driver was interviewed, but it proved not to be the car in question.

A deputy assisted an off duty DOT Enforcement Officer with stopping a westbound semi-tractor trailer near Jefferson, after the semi had blown a tire and left debris along the highway.

A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Main Street in Scranton to help mediate a domestic verbal altercation.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
