Those who get their water from the Xenia Rural Water District’s Woodward Water Service Area are urged to boil their water before consumption until further notice.

The Woodward Water Treatment Plant experienced a pump failure Saturday and while the issue has been repaired and water service restored, there is a boil advisory in effect.

All water should be boiled for one minute and allowed to cool before being used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or preparing food in order to kill bacteria and other organisms that may be contaminating it. The water may be used for bathing or other purposes such as laundry.

The District will continue to test the water until it is safe for consumption and Raccoon Valley Radio will let you know when the advisory has been lifted.
