The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference boys’ golf tournament was played on Monday under cloudy conditions at the TCI Course near Polk City before it started raining. The 9 a.m. tee off time proved beneficial in playing under dry conditions.

Gilbert shot 307 for 18 holes to claim the team title by 16 strokes over Nevada’s 323. PCM was third at 339 with South Hamilton (Jewell) fourth at 349, followed by Roland-Story (Story City) 365, Saydel (Des Moines) 373, North Polk (Alleman) 378, CMB/Colo-Nesco 394, and 474 for Greene County. Colfax-Mingo did not have enough players for a team score.

Garret Jensen of Gilbert was medalist at two under par 69. The Rams were led by Logan Nelson at 114, followed by Chase Juergensen 115, Wyatt Funcke 120, and 125 from both Alex Palmer and Zack Neil.
