The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is responding to a probable case of Avian flu in Adair County. Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf confirms that the investigation is centered around Rose Acres’ egg farm in Stuart, which houses just under 1 million egg laying hens. Department of Agriculture workers have quarantined the premises and once tests confirm the presence of Avian flu, all birds on property will be humanely euthanized to prevent the spread of disease. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
