A notice for Jefferson residents that several offices and businesses will be closed for Memorial Day.

City Hall, the Greene County Chamber, the Greene County Courthouse, the Greene County ISU Extension office, the Jefferson Public Library, the Jefferson Post Office and the Greene County Community Center will all be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th.

The library staff would like to remind everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

Residents are also reminded that garbage pickup will be delayed one day due to the holiday.  Monday’s routes will be delayed to Tuesday, Tuesday’s routes will be pushed back to Wednesday, Wednesday’s routes will be picked up on Thursday and Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday.  All routes will go back to normal the following week.  City officials urge you to have garbage at the curbside at 6am to ensure pick up.
