Greene County RamsToday is the final day for the 2014-15 school year for the Greene County Community School District.

Superintendent Tim Christensen reflects on some improvements that he’s noticed during the school year.

“Teachers working together with each other is fantastic and it’s growing by leaps and bounds.  We have a goal as a district about lifelong learning is what we want to promote with students,   and if we’re going to promote that with students, that’s something that staff also needs to take part in (and) has grown by leaps and bounds as well.”

The district continues to implement technology into the classroom.  Christensen says they are in their second year with students using laptops and IPads in the classroom.  This year, the district installed WIFI on to activity buses.

Overall, Christensen says he’s proud of how the school year went, especially for his daughter, who graduated from high school on Sunday, May 17th.

“Really proud of the education that she’s received at Greene County (School District) (and) the education that all the students received.  Just again, can’t say enough, really proud of the work that we’re all doing here in Greene County and the education that the students are getting.”

The 2015-16 school year will begin on August 24th.
