Six Perry errors were too much for the Jayettes to overcome Wednesday night as Winterset defeated Perry 9-0 in the Raccoon River Conference softball opener.  The Huskies managed only seven hits on Perry starter Emma Olejniczak but untimely errors kept the Jayettes from keeping it close.  The sophomore Olejniczak went the distance allowing only 2 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out two batters.  The Perry offense struggled finishing with three hits.  Victoria Hegstrom, Alyssa Krueger and Olejniczak each provided a hit.  Olejniczak stole a base as well.

5th ranked Winterset improves to 2-0 after beating West Des Moines Valley 5-2 Monday night while Perry falls to 0-1 and will host Norwalk Friday night.  You can listen to the game on KDLS and online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
