The Guthrie Center school district is encouraging students to read  just a few minutes more a day, expecting it can lead to an overall better quality of life. They say the average sixth grade student reads five minutes a day, which equals fifteen hours throughout the duration of the school year. By reading just fifteen minutes more a day, the student will read forty-five more hours throughout the school year. An addition which should provide a better vocabulary, and more success in school.
