The Perry Bluejay basketball team will take their 7-1 first place RRC record on the road tonight when they visit the Roundhouse in Huxley for a 7:30 showdown with Ballard.  Perry defeated the Bombers back in December but Ned Menke expects all of the teams in the conference to start making adjustments to Perry’s fast paced style.

“There are a lot of different ways that you can try to attack our pressure.  We are going to try and keep that coming but maybe mix it a little bit more.  We know each team is going to scout out and put two guards up top so they can have an easier time with the reversal passes and some teams might even use three.  It’s going to come down to us to play aggressive and quite frankly, continue to make some shots.  It’s a lot easier to play hard when the shots are going in while its hard to crank up and play hard when the shots aren’t falling.  I really think that is a key for this group.  They play really hard when their shots are falling and the confidence is high.”

Both Perry and Bondurant Farrar continue to battle for the Conference title with each team sitting 7-1 on the season.  Perry senior Will Whiton is four points away from 1000 for his career.  Sophomore Kyle Nevitt led the Bluejays Friday night against Carlisle scoring 19 points.  Shawn Kenney will have the play by play tonight at 7:30 on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
