The Iowa Farm Bureau is holding an informational Farm Bill meeting tonight in Stuart, with the goal of teaching attendees the basics of the Farm Bill. Farm Bureau Commodity Services Manager Ed Kordick has been leading meetings like these all around the State this year and says it gives farmers the necessary information for making choices given to them by the Farm Bill, “The Farm Bill allows farmland owners to change their program base acres, and also allow farm owners to update their yields for payments through government programs. Those are the first two decisions being covered at meetings. Also, it’s a program decision for all five years of the Farm Bill, so farm operators should come because they will be given the basics and some insight into farm program choice.”

The meeting begins at 6:30 pm tonight inside of Stuarts’ Saints Center, and attendees are welcome to register at the door.
