The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released girls’ basketball pairings late Monday afternoon, and the two high schools in Greene County both travel south to open the postseason. Greene County is in Class 3A Region 8 while Paton-Churdan has been assigned to 1A Region 2.

The Rams meet West Central Valley in Stuart on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. with the winner playing either Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) or Atlantic on Feb. 18 at Kuemper. Shenandoah, Clarinda, Red Oak, and Clarke (Osceola) are the other teams in Region 8.

P-C meets CAM in Anita on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. with the winner playing in Glidden on Feb. 17 vs. Glidden-Ralston or Guthrie Center. Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Griswold, and Coon Rapids-Bayard are also on the Rockets’ side of the bracket. On the bottom half of the Region 2 bracket are George-Little Rock, Harris-Lake Park, Clay Central-Everly, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn, Storm Lake St. Mary’s, River Valley, and Ar-We-Va (Westside).
