A Jefferson woman faces several drug charges from an ongoing investigation by the police department.

Police Chief Dave Morlan says 28 year-old Nicole Lynn Johnson is charged with a Class D Felony for forgery-aiding and abetting, aggravated misdemeanor for child endangerment, serious misdemeanors for nine counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana and simple misdemeanors for possession of drug paraphernalia and fifth degree theft.

Charges stem from an executed search warrant on December 2nd at 106 ½ East State Street.  Morlan states that officers and deputies recovered several drug-related items and stolen checks and prescription drugs from another residence.

Morlan notes that Johnson is currently being held in the Carroll County Jail for a probation violation and will be booked on their charges at the Greene County Jail following a court hearing with the Department of Human Services from an earlier incident at the Greene County Courthouse on Friday.  She will then be transported back to Carroll County Jail.

Morlan points out that more charges are pending the completion of their investigation and that another suspect is being considered in the case.
