Not many small schools are heading to Saturday scrimmages to play against the likes of big schools like Des Moines Roosevelt, but West Central Valley is, and varsity girls head coach Drew Stonewall will be the first one to tell you that it’s unorthodox, but he has his reasons, “I’ll be the first one to tell you I don’t know if that’s the best strategy, but I think it’s important to try and stay in game shape. You can try to replicate that in practice all you want, but it’s really hard to replicate a game situation in practice, and I think  a scrimmage is the closest thing to that.”

The lady Wildcats dropped their first game of the season to Nodaway Valley on Tuesday night by a score 54-36.
