Everyone is invited to participate in the ugliest Christmas sweater contest at the Churdan Public Library.

Library Director Shari Minnehan says the public can drop off their holiday sweaters and sweatshirts to the library by 5pm on Monday, December 1st.  Then all of the entries will be put on display in the library and everyone is encouraged to vote for the “ugliest” sweater.  Each vote will cost $.50 a piece and there’s no limit as to how many times each person can vote.  The sweaters will be on display from Monday, December 1st through the 13th.

A winner will be announced following the Lion’s Club Santa drawing on Saturday, December 13th and then the sweaters will be returned to the owners.

Minnehan notes that all the proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward their building expansion project for the library.  She points out that they’ve raised $45,000 so far for their $250,000 project.

She adds that anyone can make a donation to their expansion project by contacting the library at 515-389-3423.
