iaWildRoseLogoMore weather-related complications have caused some setbacks for the construction project for Wild Rose Jefferson.

Earlier this month, Wild Rose chief operating officer Tom Timmons told Raccoon Valley Radio that they were installing precast concrete walls for their 70,000-square foot facility.  Last week, as crews were putting up the 64 tilt-up walls, some of the panels blew down due to strong winds and new ones were poured off site and transported to the northwest corner of the intersection of US Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 4 within a few days.

Timmons hopes to get all the steel erected and have the $40-million structure enclosed before winter.  They are using Mid-States Steel Corporation from Boone for the structural steel and Jensen Brothers Ltd. has been installing it.

The facility remains to be on track to open by August 1, 2015.

Along with the construction project, Wild Rose is also going to provide 275 jobs with an estimated $7 million payroll.  Officials say there will be a job fair held next spring in which available jobs and the descriptions will be posted and the company will accept resumes and potential employees can fill out applications.  More information about the job fair will be available at a later date.
