The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department invites everyone to join them for some pre-Halloween fun at their annual Zombie Run at Daubendiek Park.

JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says anyone fourth through eighth grade can participate as a runner on Tuesday, October 28th.  Registration will be from 5-5:15pm with the race to begin at 5:30pm.

She talks about the types of things the runners will be faced with, including people dressed up as zombies, on the course.

“We’re planning on doing obstacles again this year.  They had to climb over gates, they had to climb on haybales, they had to climb underneath soccer net and the zombies what they do is they grab the flags, we put flags on the kids, and so they pull the flags off if the runners get too close to the zombies.”

Pre-registration is highly encouraged, but you can sign up the day of the race.  There is a $10 fee and more volunteers for zombies are welcomed.  Call 386-3412 for more information.
