A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident on 235th Street at Parkland Avenue. A Greene County School van was eastbound on 235th Street when a deer ran into the driver’s side of the vehicle. Three youth were on the van at the time but were not injured and were transported to the Grand Junction Intermediate School by another bus. The driver, Charles Read Vandever 72, of Grand Junction was not injured. Damage to the van was estimated to be $1500.

A deputy was advised of a littering concern in the 1300 block of 270th Street.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1700 block of J Avenue to help mediate a verbal altercation between the homeowner and the renter.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1100 block of Maple Street in Scranton for a barking dog complaint.

Members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Jefferson Police Department in locating a middle school youth that was to stay in Jefferson and not ride the bus home. The youth was located at her home after forgetting her morning instructions and rode the bus to Rippey.

The animal control officer investigated a barking dog complaint in Grand Junction.

A deputy assisted the Churdan City Council with executing a civil procedure concerning trash cleanup in the 600 block of Dudley Street.

Friday, October 24th

Dispatches at the Law Enforcement Center received an abandoned E-911 call that mapped to the 1500 block of D Avenue. The origin of the call was never determined.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
