A deputy assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with trying to locating a vehicle that was involved in a single vehicle accident in Carroll County.

A deputy is investigating the reported theft of tools from a rural residence in the 200 block of M Avenue.

A deputy, the sheriff and the Churdan Fire and Rescue responded to a hog confinement site in the 600 block of 145th Street for the report of an animal byproducts truck driver that had fallen from the back of his rendering truck while attempting to load hog carcasses. Dan M. Millard 55, of Carroll, Iowa, sustained extensive injury to his knee and was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for further treatment.

A deputy was dispatched to investigate the reported theft of gas from a vehicle in the 700 block of Madison Street in Scranton.

A deputy helped locate a cell phone that was taken from a residence in the 1000 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. The deputy made several calls and the phone was later returned.

A deputy checked a vehicle with a flat tire on N Avenue at 190th Street. A towing service and the owner soon arrived and removed the car.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a reported erratic motorcycle driver at the Highway 4 and 30 intersection. The driver was evaluated and allowed to resume his travel.

A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of U Avenue and 230th Street. A 2012 Chevrolet Impala that was being driven by Harold Arthur Rickey 88, of Ogden, Iowa, was stopped at the stop sign at 230th Street and U Avenue . Mr. Rickey then attempted to turn onto U Avenue and struck a 2003 Volkswagen being driven by Justin Davila 23, of Denison, Iowa. Neither driver was injured, with damage to the vehicles estimated to be less than $2000 in each case. Harold Rickey was issued a citation for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

A deputy was advised of cattle along the roadway at Eaton Avenue and 110th Street. The cattle were not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

Saturday, October 18th

A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver on Highway 30.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on 220th Street at R Avenue and evaluated the driver for possible impairment. The driver was questioned and allowed to continue.

A deputy assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office with trying to locate a reported vehicle pulling a trailer that had a trailer tire on fire. The vehicle was not located in Greene County.

A deputy was advised of a youth riding a dirt bike motorcycle near the boat ramp on Jordan Avenue. The bike and driver were not located at that time.

A deputy was dispatched to help mediate a verbal dispute between neighbors in the 500 block of Jefferson Street in Scranton.

A deputy was advised but unable to locate a reported careless driver westbound on Highway 30 near S Avenue.

A deputy was advised of six vehicles in a farm field near 320th Street and F Avenue. The vehicles were then reported to have left the area.

Sunday, October 19th

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of South 11th Street in Grand Junction to investigate a dog bite to a child. The child was not seriously injured but the dog was transported to the Jefferson Veterinary Clinic to be quarantined.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office advised the Greene County Sheriff’s Office of the theft of several gravity flow wagons from a farm building site in Boone County.

A deputy was dispatched to a reported hit and run accident that occurred on X Avenue at 210th Street. A 2008 Cadillac being driven by Chad Michael Klass 34, of Fort Dodge was northbound on X Avenue and was struck at the intersection by a blue semi that was eastbound on 210th Street. The semi was not located at that time. Klass was not injured and his vehicle sustained minor damage to the front passenger side. The accident is still under investigation.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
