Labor Day is the annual celebration of workers and their achievements and the unofficial end of summer.  Because of this, many people enjoy long weekends as many offices are closed in observance of the holiday.

As a reminder, the Perry city hall, water works office and library are all closed today.  The McCreary Community Building will be open from 1-5pm with the pool closing at 4:30.

Today’s garbage and recycling routes will be picked up tomorrow and Tuesday’s routes will be run Wednesday, with no yard waste pickup this week.

In addition, post offices, courthouses and most financial institutions are also closed until tomorrow.
