The Main Street in Guthrie Center has been undergoing a facelift thanks to the façade renovations that have been taking place.

President of Main Street Guthrie Center, Ken Laughrey attended the Preserve Iowa Summit last month along with Director Julie Bailey and representatives from around the state were in attendance to share their stories projects implemented to restore old buildings and their community.

According to Laughrey, “Some of the things they talked about were how you can develop old buildings, some ideas you can do to utilize those old treasures that you have within your community, some opportunities there are to get those restored and back in working conditions. They also had some stain glass repair representatives there, some people that do mason work on these old, brick mason buildings.”

For more of our conversation with Ken Laughrey, tune-in to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.  That airs during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on K107.
