The deadline to turn in any Greene County 4-H record books is tomorrow at the Greene County ISU Extension office in Jefferson.

Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Sarah Jo Reynolds says record books are information about the activities and events that 4-H’ers are involved with through a calendar year.  She adds that when 4-H’ers submit their record books, that they can apply for awards for a ceremony in November.

She points out that there are several record book keeping awards and participation awards that 4-H’ers can earn.  Plus, there is a new award for junior 4-H’ers called the Junior Spark Award.

Reynolds states that they received 50 record books in 2012 and in 2013, there were 60 record books submitted.  She is hoping for more this year because its a great way for 4-H’ers to show all their hard work from every year that they are in 4-H.

You can also submit them electronically this year as well.  Call the Extension office at 386-2138 during normal business hours for more information.
