The Greene County High School cross-country teams head to Grimes for the Dallas Center-Grimes Invitational tomorrow. The day after Labor Day meet will feature a number of schools from Central Iowa, and a host of highly regarded squads. The Rams are coming off solid performances to open the season last Thursday in Ames on the Iowa State University course for the Gilbert Invitational. The Greene County girls, ranked seventh in Class 2A, were fourth in Ames, finishing behind a trio of Class 3A teams, including DC-G. The Greene County boys were seventh among 10 teams at the Gilbert meet.

Coach Kelly Simpson saw sophomore Olivia Hansen lead his girls’ team with a 13th place finish at Ames, while senior Landon Braun was 29th to lead the Greene County boys.

The Sept. 2 meet will be the last one for the Rams before they host their own invitational on Thursday, Sept. 11 on the high school grounds in Jefferson.
