After a successful showing at the Dubuque invitational on Saturday, the ADM volleyball Tigers return to Raccoon River Conference play tonight at 7 p.m., when they’ll host the Winterset Huskies.

ADM went 2-2 in Dubuque over the weekend, including a victory over Class-5A Muscatine. Now, the Tigers’ push for a conference championship ramps up. Tuesday’s match marks the first of three straight home games against conferences foes, with Carlisle on deck and conference-leading Bondurant-Farrar after that.

ADM head coach Mary Beth Scott said her 12th-ranked Tigers won’t get caught looking ahead to Bondurant-Farrar, and will be laser-focused on beating 10-13 Winterset. Scott added her team does a good job of going game-by-game, and that’s one reason they’re well-positioned to make a run at the conference crown and a good seed in district play.

“I think we’re sitting in a pretty decent spot. Getting a couple wins in Dubuque certainly helped,” Scott said. “Losing to Boone dropped us a bit in the rankings, but it didn’t drop us out, and so we really need to focus on this week.”

The Tigers are tied for second in the conference at 17-8 overall and 2-1 against Raccoon River rivals.
