The ADM volleyball team travels to Huxley tonight at 7 for a conference date with the Ballard Bombers, when they’ll look to get back on the winning trail.

The Tigers’ modest two-game winning streak was snapped on Thursday, when they were swept at home by Boone. ADM head coach Mary Beth Scott said after that match her team played beautifully through the first 19 points before it seemed to lose some confidence that it never could fully regain.

Scott added that her team didn’t communicate well, which is uncharacteristic of the senior-lead Tigers. She pointed to several balls that fell in between girls and other plays in which a player should have asserted themselves by calling for the ball. As long as the Tigers shore up those details and focus on the “little things” Scott says are so important, they will be fine.

ADM sits at 14-6 and 1-1 in Raccoon River Conference play, though since starting 12-2, the Tigers have gone 2-4. The good news is they have plenty of season left after tonight’s match: ADM has five conference matchups following tonight’s showdown with Ballard, three of them at home. The Tigers will also compete in two more invitationals: in Dubuque this Saturday and in Knoxville on Saturday, Oct. 18.
