Lee David GriebelAdel DeSoto Minburn High School Principal Lee Griebel will be back in the office Monday after an arrest in Iowa City earlier this month.

According to Superintendent Greg Dufoe, the district’s school board met in closed session to discuss the off duty conduct issue earlier this week.  After discussing the topic it was decided that Griebel would receive a two week, unpaid suspension which is retroactive to September 8th, along with a letter of reprimand and other sanctions including community service.

The disciplinary action stems from a public intoxication arrest at the University of Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium during the Iowa versus Iowa State football game on September 6th.

Superintendent Dufoe says this is a serious matter, “Being a high school principal is a leadership position that requires a commitment to making quality decisions as a role model.  Mr. Griebel made a serious mistake, and he accepts full responsibility for his actions”.

Principal Griebel pleaded guilty to the public intoxication charge.  He was order to pay a $100 fine, along with court costs.

Dufoe adds that ADM High School will be even better as they work through the issue together.  He thanks the students, staff and parents for making the school a family that cares deeply about each other.
