ADMOn a night where the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn football team needed to fill in some unknowns, they certainly found some answers in the second half of Friday’s game against Perry.

Down 3-0 at halftime, ADM scored twice in the second half, even after enduring a 30-minute lightning delay, and forced four Perry turnovers as well.  Even first-year starting quarterback, junior Frank Weiland found his rhythm after he threw his first career interception in the first half and went 0-for-6 after starting the game going 6-for-6 passing, he came back and had a pass to the corner of the endzone for a 16-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Weiland then went on to score a touchdown with his legs from one-yard out on their second score of the game, but that was set up by a 45-yard wide receiver screen to senior Jake Sloss.

Perry may have had more offensive yards on the night (305-to-232), but it was the four turnovers and clock management that gave ADM the victory.

Head Coach Mike Whisner said he was happy with the win and he was impressed by how well Weiland was able to settle in after the somewhat shaky first half.

ADM will take its 1-0 record on the road this Friday for its second non-district opponent at the Ballard Bombers who are also 1-0 on the season after defeating Boone 33-14 last week.
