Voter FraudWednesday was the final day for nomination papers to be turned in to run for available township trustees and clerks and those running for county seats as an unaffiliated political party for Greene County.

At the County-level, there are two Board of Supervisor seats open for the November election.  In District #2, Shane Olson will be on the ballot as an Independent and he’ll run against Republican incumbent Dawn Rudolph and Democrat challenger Kevin Fitzpatrick, Sr.  District #3 saw no change from the primary election in June.  Democrat challenger Randy Monthei will run against Republican incumbent Tom Contner.

County Treasurer remains the same on the ballot with Republican Kristi Holz against Democrat incumbent Donna Lawson.  County Attorney and Recorder remain unchanged with Republican Nicola Martino running unopposed for County Attorney along with current Recorder and Democrat Marcia Tasler.

Each township clerk and trustee is elected to a four-year term.  Dawson clerk and trustee candidates that will be on the ballot are incumbents Becki Cunningham and Scott Walker respectively, Franklin Township clerk and trustee will be Carla K. Offenburger and incumbent Doug Lawton respectively.

The Grant Township clerk and trustee will include incumbents Marvin Rasmussen and Peggy Semke respectively, Greenbrier Township Clerk candidate is Jo Ann Schnebly and for trustee is Brent Badger, Highland Township clerk and trustee candidates are Kimberle Kersey and John McCormick respectively, Jackson Township Clerk candidate is Tom Lawton and for trustee it is Joshua Hedges, Junction Township clerk and trustee candidates are incumbents Jackie Gannon and Tim Collogan respectively, Kendrick Township Clerk candidate is incumbent Doris White and Trustee is Dennis Paup and Scranton Township Clerk and Trustee that are running are incumbents Debra Fey and Glen Christensen.

Washington Township Clerk and Trustee candidates are incumbents Jean Borgeson and Mary Ann Hick respectively and Willow Township Clerk will be a write-in election and incumbent Mike Carter is running for another term as trustee.

Other elected positions for the November election are two seats on the public hospital trustees with incumbents Kim Bates and Doug Hawn running for re-election.  Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner has two available seats and incumbents Bill Frederick and Andy Krieger as running again.

There are five seats open for the county agricultural extension council and incumbents Marilyn Parker and Loel D. Larson are running again for another four-year term along with Joe Gannon, Andrew McGinn and Jacob Bohnet.

The City of Paton will need to elect a new mayor to fill the vacancy left by the previous mayor, Joseph Bindner to fill a one-year term before the mayor’s seat is up for election next year.  However, no one turned in their papers by the deadline and so the mayor’s seat will be filled by a write-in candidate.  Paton will also have to elect a City Council member to fill a vacancy for its at-large seat with incumbent Steven B. Joy running unopposed.

The November general election will take place on Tuesday, November 4th.
