ADMTonight, the Tigers of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn take their home football field to open up the 2014 season against the Perry Bluejays.

Since 2010, ADM has a 3-1 record against the Bluejays, but this year they are playing each other as non-district opponents.  The Tigers alone loss in the last four years to Perry was last year in their second-lowest scoring game of the season 13-6.  Head coach Mike Whisner says that that loss didn’t impact their record for district standings, but he adds that it definitely slowed them down.

Going into the first two weeks of the season playing non-district opponents, Whisner talks about what he wants to see his team accomplish before district play begins.

“You know the underlying thing is you get prepare for district and figure out who those starters are going to be and kind of come together as a cohesive unit.  So that’s pretty important to in those first two (games) because they really have no bearing on the district outcome and the state tournament and state playoff.”

ADM ended last season with a 4-6 record and Perry ended their season with a 4-5 record.  Our coverage will begin at 6:15pm with our pre-game show with kickoff slated for 7pm from Adel.  You can hear the game on KKRF 107.9FM and through any smartphone or iPhone with our listen live tab on our website at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
