The Stuart Fire Department will be participating in a control burn this Sunday.

Fire Chief Mike Renslow says the control burn is a training exercise for his department, and he asks that area residents not be concerned if they see flames or smoke on the northeast edge of Stuart starting at about 8:30 this coming Sunday morning.

Renslow says more than 30 firefighters will be participating in the burning of an old, dilapidated farm house north of West Central Valley High School.

The Dexter and Menlo Fire Departments have been invited as well.

Renslow says he expects the burn to be completed by noon at the latest.
