A deputy is investigating a harassment concern in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy was dispatched to a reported two vehicle accident on U Avenue and 290th Street. A 1999 Dodge Ram pickup being driven by Lyle Robert Heater 79, of rural Rippey was struck by a 2001 Toyota Corolla being driven by Michael Wayne Hegstrom 60, of Jefferson as Hegstrom was negotiating the intersection at 290th Street. The Hegstrom car received an estimated $2000 in damages and minimal damage to the Heater pickup. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

A deputy was dispatched to a domestic call in the 300 block of 13th Street in Grand Junction. After an investigation by the deputy, David Michael Cannon 35, of 306 South 13th Street was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

A deputy was not able to locate a reported careless and erratic driver on Highway 30  west of Grand Junction.

A deputy was unable to locate a suspicious vehicle with three occupants reported to be parked on S Avenue near 210th Street.

Both Greene and Carroll County Deputies responded to the report of cattle on the roadway at Highway 30 and A Avenue. The owner of the cattle was notified and assisted the deputies with placing the cattle back into the pasture.

Saturday, July 26th

A deputy spoke with a rural resident in the 1500 block of K Avenue about the possible theft or misplacement of a small caliber handgun.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on 130th Street near U Avenue and issued Pedro Villela of Texas, citations for Operation without a Driver’s License and no insurance on his  vehicle.

A deputy investigated the report of an unattended four year old child at the Casey’s  General Store in Grand Junction. The child’s mother soon arrived and explained that the  family lives close to Casey’s and the child wandered away from home. The deputy advised the parent that the Department of Human Services will be contacted.

A deputy investigated the report of a careless and erratic driver on 13th Street in Grand Junction. The driver was identified and will be spoken with.

A deputy was dispatched to a reported two vehicle accident at the intersection of 240th  Street and J Avenue. A 2001 Chevrolet K2500 pickup that was being driven by Trista Jo  Bainter 20, of rural Jefferson was westbound on 240th Street when a 1988 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup that was driven by Molly Jo Hoskins 17, stopped at the stop sign on J Avenue and then entered the intersection striking the Bainter vehicle. Molly Jo Hoskins was transported the Greene County Medical Center by the Greene County Emergency Medical Services for minor injuries. Both vehicles were estimated to be total losses and Hoskins was issued a citation for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.

A deputy is investigating a reported violation of a No Contact Order in the 300 block of 340th Street.

A deputy assisted with traffic control during the 5K Glow Run in Grand Junction.

A deputy assisted personnel with the Greene County Emergency Medical Services, Jefferson Fire Department and the Jefferson Police Department with lifting a patient for transport to the Greene County Medical Center.

Sunday, July 27th

The Chief Deputy Sheriff and his K 9 Leo assisted the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office with tracking an unknown burglary suspect in the 3300 block of 110th Street. The suspect was not located at that time.

A deputy investigated a civil issue in the 400 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction and spoke with a reported driver of a vehicle that was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

A deputy investigated criminal mischief to a window in the 100 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy spoke with a Grand Junction resident in the 800 block of East Main Street about an abandoned dog that had been left in his care for week and the owner never returned.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all  defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
