ADMOur recap coverage of the ADM softball season is just about over now that the state tournament is complete and only one team is left standing in each of Iowa’s five high school classes.

The Tigers went from bottom dweller to conference contender in the first season under new head coach Rick Dillinger, going from four to 25 wins from 2013 to 2014.  We give the head coach the mic as he signs off on the 2014 season with some parting words.

“I’m proud of what we accomplished but we’re going to continue to set high goals and continue to work hard.  As long as we do those things we can be successful.  I’m proud of the parents and I thank them for all their efforts in getting kids to practice and games… I as a coach have been very fortunate to get to coach their daughters, and I’m going to enjoy coaching all of them in the future.”

Coach Dillinger will have a couple more things to say to his team away from the public eye when they get together August 17th for their end of season banquet.

Also expect all-state team announcements to come in shortly from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.  Molly Jacobsen is a prime contender for a first or second-team nod.
