ADM Coach Jason BookWe heard from ADM baseball coach Jason Book all last week as he reflected on this past season and looked ahead to next year.

Today, we caught up with him one more time to ask him a final question… Coach, what is your overall assessment of the 2014 season?

“You know, we had a good season, but you always strive to be a little bit better than how you finish.  There are always ‘coulda, shoulda, wouldas’.  But how it broke down and how this team performed this year is probably about fitting for where we ended in the conference and what our record was.  We just could not find a way to play consistently night in and night out and that’s really what hurt us.  We easily could have won probably six to eight more ballgames but it just wasn’t in the cards for us this year.”

Coach Book’s club finished in solo third place in the Raccoon River Conference and had a 19-13 overall record in 2014.

Despite the up-and-down season, the Tigers did have a few all-district and all-conference selections.  Those names, along with the all-state teams, will not be released until after this week’s state tournament in Des Moines comes to a close.
