Out of the three National Weather Service reporting stations in the Raccoon River Valley, Guthrie Center typically gets the largest amount of rain during the month of July.  Unfortunately, this year they received the least.

According to online weather data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Guthrie Center only received 0.12 inches of rain last month.  That’s more than 4 ½ inches less than normal.

Jefferson only saw 0.77 inches of rainfall in July, which is 3.8 inches less than the average amount.  And Perry received 0.85 inches less than normal, with a total of 3.57 inches of rain.

There’s a slight chance of Thunderstorms Thursday, but temperatures are expected to stay warm with highs in the 90s all week.
